Thanks Theorah. Ok- here's my spoiler-free report.
In short: It was great, and I loved it.
Plot- The plot was better than what I expected, with plenty of lovely little twists and turns. Sure, there were certain expected, somewhat cliche elements here and there, but concidering it's a Disney princess movie, it was really great. And surprisingly darkish/scary for a princess movie during a few of the Shadow Man's scenes.
Characters- Loved them. They were all such... individuals! They had such distinct personalities, fun character designs, and wonderful motives. I was wonderfully pleased with the motives, especially since the major motives for princess movies are love and power, and they weren't that prevalent. Also, Tiana and Naveen both grew up wonderfully by the end, esp Naveen. For some reason his change seemed very real and I loved it. Also, Tiana's friend is great. I don't remember what her name was, but every scene with her in it was highly entertaining- typical spoiled (not quite rotton) southern belle.
Setting- Set up very well, I loved the whole atmosphere, especially with all the songs (very catchy and bouncy). Even though I've never been to New Orleans, Mardi Gras, or the swamp down there, but it all seemed so wonderfully real nonetheless. Although last I checked, frog tongues weren't QUITE that long....
Animation/design- beautifully smooth, colorful, simple but very charming designs. Loved it all.
So, I think that's it. I would definitely go see it again, and for me, it rates right about with Beauty and the Beast- as probably my favorite princess movie, and a wonderful movie in general.
Iavar has a wife? has...or had? ah theres still so much to learn about the characters.
aw I love the last panel, the dogs reaction to that huge dragon tail, so cute!
