I hope what Merovek says in the last page makes sense, I'm having a hard time concentrating on the dialogue, for one reason or another. :P (also I hate the way his face came out in the 3rd panel X( )
About pregnancies: the different kinds (naturally) have different lengths for their gestation periods. Elves, who are in the top three as far as long lifespans go (orcs and dragons being the other two, I think dragons can live the longest of any kind) get to have the longest- around two years. However, things can get weird if you have mixed kind marriages, like Merovek and Phaone, due to genetics and stuff. Long explanation short: the baby may or may not need 2 years to fully develop, but Phaone's body may or may not react properly to it. Interkind pregnancies need to be closely monitored, and thankfully Merovek has a job and title that allows them to afford frequent visits to the doctor.
Replies: Thank you both! For some reason I like doing couples that have been married for a while. They seem to have a better understanding and working with each other.
I understand perfectly, thats kind of sad though :( I really like that we get to see both sides, it doesnt feel so much now like there is a straight forward 'good 'evil' thing, just two opposing sides. You sort of get that earlier when there was that big meeting and the orc stormed out (cant recall name) but now it feels even more like this.
I really like the 3rd panel, his face is very subtle but shows so much disappointment, like quietly opposing his job...
